Why We Built TradingStreak
A simple trading journal born from real trading needs, not corporate wishful thinking.
The Questions Every Trader Asks
It started with two simple questions that kept me up at night:
“Am I actually profitable? And if not... do I even have a chance to become profitable?”
Like many traders, I knew the importance of keeping a trading journal. Every book, every course, every successful trader preaches the same thing: recap your trades. Understand what you did right, what you did wrong, and learn from it.
I needed a place to track my daily trading journey. Not just the numbers, but the story behind them. The psychology, the decisions, the lessons. A place to be honest with myself about my trading.

The Problem With Existing Journals
So I looked at what was out there. And I found two types of trading journals:
💸 Expensive
Monthly subscriptions that cost more than some trading accounts make in a month.
🔧 Over-Engineered
Features nobody asked for. Complexity that gets in the way of the actual work.
Here's the truth that most trading journal companies don't want you to hear:
You don't need to track every single trade. You don't need to automate every step. You don't need AI to analyze your patterns.
You need to do the basic homework:
- PnL tracking (just copy the final number from your broker)
- Extract key takeaways from your trading days
- Build the habit of daily recaps
Simple. Focused. Actually useful.

Trading Together
But there was another piece missing. Trading can be lonely. Really lonely.
My friends and I wanted to trade together. Not in the same room, but on the same journey. We had this idea:
What if we started a trading challenge together?
Same broker (Trading212). Same starting capital. Same starting day. Let's see who can grow their account the most.
We wanted to organize trading tournaments with friends. Find peers who trade similar styles. Create accountability. Make the journey fun.
That's why TradingStreak has leaderboards, comparisons, and community features built in. Because trading is better when you're not doing it alone.

Built by Traders, for Traders
TradingStreak isn't backed by VCs or built by people who've never placed a trade. It's built by traders who were frustrated with the tools available and decided to build something better.
Something simple. Something focused. Something that actually helps you become a better trader.
